What is Protected Learning Time?
Protected Learning Time (PLT) in NHS GP practices is a scheduled period where the practice closes to allow staff to engage in training and development activities. This time is used for staff training and addressing learning needs. PLT is commissioned by the NHS and facilitated by local Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to ensure that practices can improve the quality of care they provide.
